SALAMI´NIAS

SALAMI´NIAS a town in Coele-Syria in the district Chalybonitis (It. Anton. p. 197; Not. Imp.), which Reland (Palaest. i. p. 217) identifies with Salamias (Σαλάμιας) in the Not. Leonis Imp., and with Salemjat in Abulfeda (Tab. Syr. p. 105). It is said still to bear the name Selmen. (Richter, Wallfahrten, p. 238.)
