SARANGA

SARANGA (τὰ Σάραγγα), a small place on the coast of Gedrosia between the Indus and the Arabis. It was visited by Nearchus in his coast voyage to Persia (Arrian Ind. chap. 22). It has been conjectured by Miller (Geogr. Graec. Min. l.c., ed. Paris) that it is the same as the Ῥιζάνα of Ptolemy (6.21.2).
