SHAVEH KIRJATHAIM

SHAVEH KIRJATHAIM (translated by the LXX. Σαυὴ πόλις), the original seat of that very ancient people the Emims, where they were smitten by Chedorlaomer, king of Elam. (Gen. 14.5.) It no doubt passed with the other possessions of the Emims to the Moabites (Deut. 2.9--11), and is probably identical with the Kiriathaim (LXX. Καριαθαὶμ) of Jeremiah (48.23) and Ezekiel (25.9).
