STRYMO´NICUS SINUS
STRYMO´NICUS SINUS (
Στρυμονικὸς κόλπος,
Strab. vii. p.330), a bay lying between Macedonia and Thrace, on the E. side of the peninsula of Chalcidice (
Ptol. 3.13.9).
It derived its name from the river Strymon, which fell into it. Now the gulf of
Rendina. [
