THYMBRES

THYMBRES a tributary of the Sangarius in Phrygia (Liv. 38.18), is no doubt the same as the Tembrogius of Pliny (6.1) and the Timbrius in the Argonautica bearing the name of Orpheus (713), where the river is described as abounding in fish.
