VANDABANDA (Οὐανδαβάνδα, Ptol. 6.12.4), a district of Sogdiana, between the Mons Caucasus (Hindú--Kúsh) and the Imaus (Himáleh).
It is probably nearly the same as the present Badakhshán (Wilson, Ariana, p. 164). [V]
