VI´NDIUS

VI´NDIUS or VINNIUS (Οὐίνδιον ὄρος, Ptol. 2.6.21), a mountain in Hispania Tarraconensis, which ran in a W. direction from the Saltus Vasconum and formed the boundary between the Cantabri and the Astures. It formed, therefore, the W. portion of the Cantabrian chain. The Iberus had its source in it.
