DENDRO´BOSA

DENDRO´BOSA (Δενδρώβοσα, Arrian Ind. chap. 27), a place on the coast of Gedrosia, in the district of the Icthyophagi, visited by Nearchus's fleet. Dr. Vincent thinks that it is the Δεράνη Βίλλα of Ptolemy (6.8.9), and the Derenobilla (Δερενόβιλλα) of Marcian (p. 23), and that it is, perhaps, represented by the modern Daram. (Voy. of Nearch. vol. i. p. 252.)
