[277] ἐπὶτέλλεται: 'attacks,' literally 'rises against,' adoritur.

μύωπα: cf. Call. fr. 46, βουσσόον, ὅντε μύωπα βοῶν καλέουσιν ἀμορβοί. The word had the double meaning of 'spur' and 'gadfly;' cf. Plat. Apol. 30e: Aesch. Pr. 675.
