ἀντάω (cf. ἀντί, ἄντα), ipf. ἤντεον, fut. ἀντήσω, aor. ἤντησα, subj. ἀντήσομεν: meet, encounter; of persons, w. dat., Il. 6.399, Il. 7.423; of things, w. gen., μάχης, δαίτης, ‘come straight to,’ Od. 3.44 ; ὅπως ἤντησας ὀπωπῆς, ‘got sight of him face to face,’ Od. 4.327.
