ἀντί-θεος , 3: godlike, epith. of distinction as regards rank, might, stature, beauty; applied to kings, Il. 5.663; to the companions of Odysseus, Od. 4.571; to the suitors, Od. 14.18, and (by Zeus) even to Polyphēmus, Od. 1.30; rarely of women, ἀντιθέην ἄλοχον (Penelope), Od. 11.117.
