- πήμων , ονος (πῆμα): without harm; pass., ἀπήμων ἦλθε, ἀπήμονα πέμπειν τινά, ‘safe and sound,’ Od. 4.487, Od. 13.39; act., of anything that tends to safety, νόστος ἀπήμων, ‘happy’ return, Od. 4.519 ; πομποί, ‘kindly,’ Od. 8.566 ; οὖρος, ὕπνος, etc. The distinction of act. and pass. is rather apparent than real.
