στεφανόω (στέφανος), pass. perf. ἐστεφάνωται, plup. -το: put around as a crown; the pass. is to be understood literally, but it may be paraphrased ‘encircles,’ ‘encompasses,’ etc., Od. 10.195, Il. 11.36, Il. 5.739, Il. 15.153 ; τά τ᾽ οὐρανὸς ἐστεφάνωται, ‘with which the heaven is crowned,’ Il. 18.485.
