στυγέω , aor. 2 ἔστυγον, aor. 1 opt. στύξαιμι: abominate, loathe, hate; κατὰ (adv.) δ᾽ ἔστυγον αὐτήν, ‘were disgusted’ at the sight of her, Od. 10.113; aor. 1 is causative, make hateful or horrible, Od. 11.502.
