χεῖρα ἐπιφέρειν τινί, χεῖρας ἐφιέναι, ἰάλλειν, χερσὶν
ἀρήγειν, χεῖρα ὑπερέχειν τινί, in defence, Il. 4.249; (εἰς) χεῖρας ἱκέσθαι,
‘fall into the power,’ Il. 10.448.
