Korn thinks that reference is made to some wellknown image of the god, perhaps to that which stood in his temple restored B. C. 15.Quirini. Cf. 607 n. Livy, who adopts the derivation of Quirites from Cures, does not mention the identification of Romulus with Quirinus. Cf. I. xvi. 8, with Seeley's note.
