γιγνομένην. Notice the tense. “To see . . . being openly vouchsafed.”

τῇ πόλει depends both on εὔνοιαν and φαν. γιγν.

τὸ γὰρ κ.τ.λ. The long sentence introduced by τὸ γεγενῆσθαι and extending to ἀνάστασιν is the subject of ἔοικεν. Turn: “for it seems really a . . . blessing that men have come forward to fight . . . who are.”

τοὺς πολεμήσοντας=τινὰς οἳ πολεμήσουσι. Here the future denotes willingness rather than purpose.

ὅμορον, sc. Φιλίππῳ.

τινά, “considerable.”

πατρίδος . . . ἀνάστασιν, “their country's deathblow.” More forcible than πατοίδα ἀναστησούσας.
