κακῶς: (destructively,) fiercely.

ἀέκοντας: unwilling, i.e. in spite of all that they could do. cf. “ὑπέσχετο δὲ μέγα ἔργον, ἐκ Τροίης ἀέκοντας ἀπωσέμεν” (drive off) “υἷας Ἀχαιῶν Ν” 366 f.

ἐσύλα: cf. “ἐσύλευον” 48.
