ἁπαλός. Cp. Theogn. 1341 αἰαῖ, παιδὸς ἐρῶ ἁπαλόχροος: Archil. 100 θάλλεις ἁπαλὸν χρόα: Phaedrus 245 A λαβοῦσα ἁπαλὴν καὶ ἄβατον ψυχήν. Ὅμηρος γὰρ. See Il. XIV. 92—3. Schol. πίλναται: προσπελάζει, προσεγγίζει. τοὺς γοῦν...εἶναι. As Hug observes, the occurrence of καὶ ποσὶ καὶ πάντῃ below is sufficient to establish the soundness of these words.
