A'bgarus, A'cbarus
or AU'GARUS (
Ἄβγαρος, Ἄκβαρος,
Ἀυγαρος), a name common to many rulers of Edessa, the capital of the district of Osrhoene in Mesopotamia.
It seems to have been a title and not a proper name. (Procop.
