Aly'pius

（*)ALU/PIOS), priest of the great church at Constantinople, flourished A. D. 430. There is extant an epistle from him to St. Cyril (in Greek), exhorting him to a vigorous resistance against the heresy of Nestorius. (See Conciliosrum Nora Collectio, à Mansi, vol. v. p. 1463.)

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
