Anti'ochus Xii. or Anti'ochus Dionysus

*)Anti/oxos), king of SYRIA, surnamed DIONYSUS (Διόνυσος), and on coins Philopator Callinicus (Φιλοπάτωρ Καλλίνικος) also, the youngest son of Antiochus VIII., assumed the title of king after his brother Demetrius had been taken prisoner by the Parthians. He fell in battle against Aretas, king of the Arabians. (J. AJ 13.15.1; Eckhel, iii. p. 246, &c.)
