Asple'don

（Ἀσπληδών), a son of Poseidon and the nymph Mideia (Chersias, apud Paus. 9.38.6); according to others, he was a son of Orchomenus and brother of Clymenus and Amphidicus (Steph. Byz. s. v. (Ἀσπληδών), or a son of Presbon and Sterope. (Eustath. ad Hom. p. 272.) He was regarded as the founder of Aspledon, an ancient town of the Minyans in Boeotia.

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
