Auta'ritus

*Au)ta/ritos), the leader of the Gallic mercenaries in the Carthaginian army in Africa, took an active part in the rebellion against Carthage at the end of the first Punic war. He at length fell into the power of Hamilcar, and was crucified, B. C. 238. (Plb. 1.77, 79, 80, 85, 86.)
