Cane'thus

（*Ka/nhqos), two mythical personages, one a son of Lycaon, and the second the son of Atlas and father of Canthus in Euboea, from whom a mountain in Euboea near Chalcis derived its name. (Apollod. 3.8.1; Apollon. 1.78; Strab. x. p.447.)

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
