Hecataeus

a statuary and silver-chaser of some note, who seems, from the way in which he is mentioned by Pliny, to have been a native of Mytilene, and to have lived not long before the time of Pompey the Great. (Plin. Nat. 33.12. s. 55; 34.8. s. 19.25.)
