Ia'lmenus

*)Ia/lmenos), a son of Ares and Astyoche, and brother of Ascalaphus of the Boeotian Orchomenos. (
Hom. Il. 2.512, &c.) Others call him an Argive and a son of Lycus and Pernis (
Hyg. Fab. 97,
159), and mention him among the Argonauts (
Apollod. 1.9.16) and the suitors of Helena. (
Apollod. 3.10.8;
Paus. 9.37, in fin.)
After the destruction of Troy, he is said to have wandered about with the Orchomenians on the Pontus, and to have founded colonies on the coast of Colchis. (
