Leander

or LEA'NDRIUS (Λέανσδρος or Λεάνδριος), of Miletus, seems to have been the author of a work on the history of his native city. A few quotations from it are still extant, but we have no means of determining the age at which Leander lived. (D. L. 1.28, 41; Clem. Alex. Protrept. p. 13, Strom. i. p. 129, vi. p. 267; Euseb. Praep. Ev. ii. p. 45; Theodoret. Therap. i. p. 700, viii. p. 909; Schol. ad Apollon. Rhod. 2.706.)

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
