Monoba'zus

*Mono/bazos), was king or tetrarch of Adiabene in A. D. 63, when Tigranes, king of Armenia, invaded his kingdom. Monobazus applied for aid to Vologeses, the Parthian monarch; and the troops of Adiabene and Parthia entered Armenia, and invested its capital, Tigranocerta. Monobazus afterwards accompanied Vologeses to the camp of Corbulo [CORBULO] at Randeia, to negotiate a truce between Parthia and Rome. The sons of Monobazus were in the suite of Tiridates on his visit to Nero in A. D. 66. (Tac. Ann. 15.1, 14; D. C. 62.20, 23, 63.1.)
