Philola'us

*Filo/laos), that is, friend of the people, was a surname of Asclepius, under which he had a temple in Laconia (Paus. 3.22.7). It occurs also as the proper name of a son of Minos and the nymph Pareia, in Paros. (Apollod. 1.9.5, 3.1.2.)
