Rabi'rius

a Roman architect of the time of Domitian, who is highly praised by Martial for his skill as an artist and his virtues as a man (7.56, 10.71). The erection of Domitian's palace on the Palatine is ascribed to him by modern writers, but on what authority we have been unable to discover. (Hirt, Geschichte der Baukunst, vol. ii. p. 350; Müller, Archäologie der Kunst, § 190, n. 3.)

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
