The'spius

*Qe/spios), a son of Erectheus, who, according to some, founded the town of Thespiae in Boeotia. (

Diod. 4.29; comp. Schol.
ad Hom. Il. 2.948;
Apollod. 2.7.8.) His descendants are called Thespiades (
Apollod. 2.4.10; Senec.
Herc. Oet. 369), which name is also given to the Muses. (
Ov. Met. 5.310.)
