Farnham, Thomas Jefferson 1804-1848

Author; born in Vermont in 1804; forsook the legal profession in 1839 and went across the continent to Oregon and later to California, where he was influential in obtaining the release of some American and English prisoners who had been held by the Mexican government. He is the author of Travels in Oregon; Travels in California; A memoir of the Northwest boundary line, etc. He died in California, in September, 1848.
