Evans, Clement Anselm, 1859-

Lawyer; born in Georgia; graduated at the law school of Augusta, Ga.; was in the Georgia Senate in 1859; served in the Confederate army through the Civil War, and was an acting major-general in the Army of Northern Virginia at the time of Lee's surrender. He is the author of Military history of Georgia; and editor of Confederate military history (12 volumes).
