Physician; born in Groton, Mass., March 16, 1830; graduated at Harvard College in 1851, and at Harvard Medical School in 1854; served in the Civil War as assistant surgeon and surgeon; and received the brevet of lieutenant-colonel in 1864.
He is the author of History of medicine in Massachusetts; Groton during the Indian wars;
and of several volumes in the Groton Historical series.
