James, Benjamin 1768-1825

Lawyer; born in Stafford county, Va., April 22, 1768; became a lawyer and practised in Charleston, S. C., till 1796. Removed to his native place and followed his profession [118] till 1808, when he settled permanently in Laurens district, S. C. He published Digest of the statute and common law of Carolina. He died in Laurens district, S. C., Nov. 15, 1825.
