McCall, Hugh 1767-1824

Military officer; born in South Carolina in 1767; joined the army in May, 1794; was promoted captain in August, 1800. When the army was reorganized in 1802 he was retained in the 2d Infantry; was brevetted major in July, 1812; and served during the second war with England. He was the author of a History of Georgia. He died in Savannah, Ga., July 9, 1824.
