From the above statistics we learn that there were killed or died from from wounds, 8); wounded, 113; died from disease, 158; discharged by reason of disability, 394; discharged for promotion in other regiments, 59; died as prisoners of war in hands of the enemy, 17. The number of wounded seems to be incorrect, owing to defective records. We find some companies reporting more killed than wounded; one company reports five killed and none wounded. The usual proportion of wounded to killed or died of wounds would make the number of wounded here reported twice as great.
