Good arrangement.

--The Council recently raised the wages of the fireman and hostler of the steam fire engine owned by the city. Consequent on this was an arrangement made by the Chief of the Fire Department that they should, in conjunction with the engineer of the machine, keep in repair the hand engine, which work they have since been performing, thus saving the tax-paying portion of the people a considerable item of expense.
