A citizen of Richmond, now in Charleston, writes, February 18th:

‘ "There is not the slightest prospect of the Southern Confederacy coming back to the old Union. The best people I meet with express honest indignation at the idea, when suggested. They say they are not tricksters, nor children, and have no idea of joining the North again, in any shape."
