No changes were made by the Council Monday evening in the tax bill, save that in section 7th, which divides merchants, traders and shop-keepers into eighteen classes, and prescribes the amount to be paid by each. The ordinance now reads: "And if he shall sell wine, ardent spirits, ar a mixture thereof, he shall pay an additional tax of $10; and if he is a rectifier of spirituous liquors, he shall pay an additional tax of $50." The amount was reduced respectively from $20 and $100.
