--The St. Louis Republican learns that an agent of the Southern Confederacy has chartered the steamer H. D. Bacon, of that port, to go to Alton, Illinois, and take in a load of provisions, consisting of corn, wheat, pork, etc., to the amount of 600 tons. The cargo is destined for Florence, Alabama.
