A Tolerable Inanimate.
--If anybody is seriously distressed about division in Public sentiment over the Constitution
of the Confederate States
, we recommend them to study the following statement of the vote upon the question of its adoption:
Two States, South Carolina
, are yet to adopt the new Constitution.
It will be seen the total vote of the five States in Convention stands — for adoption 500, against it 21.
We call that about as near unanimity as we can expect to attain in this mundane sphere.--Macon Telegraph.
