Damage by the storm.
--The heavy rains on the mountains on Friday and Saturday nights, caused the Potomac river
to swell to a very great height.
All along the line of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, from Harper's Ferry
, the streams were swollen, at some places the Ralls were submerged four to six feet, and for a time there was some difficulty in the trains passing.
The road suffered very little damage, and the interruption to the travel was only temporary.
