Military funeral.

--Yesterday, Henry C. Smith, late of the Macon county Volunteers, was buried with military honors. In addition to the battalion to which he was attached, the Portsmouth Home Guard and a vast concourse of private citizens attended the funeral, and accompanied the remains to the grave. The scene was very impressive throughout, and, though comparatively a stranger here, his death evoked much sympathy and regret.--Portsmouth Transcript, 13th.
