The New England clergy.

--The Manchester (N. H.) Union Democrat notices, as an evidence of the demoralizing effect of politicians on the clergy, the fact that a leading clergy man of that city recently became so engrossed in a political discussion that he forgot to attend the funeral of a member of his church.-- But it adds that he did not forget his engagement for the afternoon of the same day, as he was seen to pick up a lady in one of the back streets, for a drive to the ‘"rural districts."’
