Need of nurses.
We are informed that a number of the sick at Yorktown
are sadly in need of nurses, and indeed many of them, quartered in the old Nelson
Mansion, have no pillows but their folded blankets, a very heating and uncomfortable support for the head.
In the Crimson war, the Sisters
of Charity and the Sisters
of Mercy rendered the most valuable aid to the sick and suffering soldiers, and we feel very sure that it needs only an intimation to that effect to secure the assistance of as humans and gr us be, and of and efficient hands, in behalf of the gallant of our dear country.
