--We incidentally mentioned, yesterday, the capture by the United States
blockading steamer Brooklyn
, of the beautiful yacht Gipsy
, at Pass a l' Outre.
(who, by-the-by, is a British subject) was enjoying one of his usual summer fishing excursions, and was sailing the Gipsy
under British colors.
The gallant and valiant commander of the Brooklyn
, with a most notable obedience to the letter of his orders, seized the pretty pleasure boat, retaining it as a prize, and, as we learn from a dispatch from Commodore Robinson
, put him and his servant on shore, to find their way to the city as they may.--This they will probably do in the course of the day.
Certainly a most brilliant adventure, this, of the brave blockaders!--New Orleans Picayuns.
