--Gentlemen who reached Memphis from Jacksonport, Ark., Monday, report that rumor prevails in that section that the noted robber, Jim Lane, has positively declined to enter the service of Mr. Lincoln, declaring his intention to stay at home and tend his farm, and let Mr. Lincoln fight out his own battles.
