Burned to death.

--Miss Bertha Scheller, sister of Mrs. Methua, a German actress of New York, met with a fatal accident on the 14th of July, at the Stralsund Theatre, Russia, where she was engaged as premiere danseuse. Her dress caught fire while she was dancing a pas de deux with Miss Rossi, who came near sharing her fate in attempting to extinguish the flames. Several gentleman jumped from the boxes to the stage to reader their assistance, but unfortunately succeeded only in saying the life of Miss Rossi, as her companion was so seriously injured that after three days of intense agony she expired.
